Every genre has it’s own jargon. Here is a list of abbreviations and terms that I use frequently throughout this blog. Will be adding more as we journey on.
TTC – Trying To Conceive – what this blog is about
TMI – Too Much Information – what this blog contains… not for the squeemish

AF – Aunt Flo (menstrual period)
BBT/BMT – Basal Body Temperature
BD – Baby Dance (sex)
BFN – big fat negative – usually refers to hpt
BFP – big fat positive – what we’re hoping for on the hpt!
Bhcg – Beta Human Chorionic Gonadotropin – detected by hpt
CD – cycle day – cd1 is first day of your cycle when you start your menstrual period
CM – cervical mucus
DH – darling husband
DPO – days post ovulation
EWCM – egg white cervical mucus
HPT – home pregnancy test
IPS – imaginary pregnancy symptoms
LH – luteinizing hormone
LMP – Last menstrual period
LO – little one
O – Ovulate
OPK – Ovulation predictor kit… I think. It detects a surge in your LH levels
POAS – pee on a stick – doing a hpt
